Social Services What can social services do for the Huntington's Disease patient? The social services staff provides psychosocial assessments and help patients, family and other caregivers assess needs and connect them with community resources. They provide support to patients and caregivers to help cope with chronic illness and in planning for future needs. The social services staff can provide information to patients, family and caregivers about social security disability, health insurance and multiple community resources. They also assist with health care directive information and other long term planning tasks.
