Physicians in the Division of Rheumatology provide diagnosis and management of patients with arthritis or any other rheumatic or autoimmune disorder. Outpatient rheumatology clinics offer evaluation of new patients and follow-up treatment of patients with established disease. Faculty members also provide consultation for inpatients with primary rheumatic disease and also for patients with rheumatologic manifestations of other systemic disorders.

Interdisciplinary care:

  • The Division is committed to providing coordinated care for those patients with multi-system diseases who require the input of other specialties (e.g. nephrology, pulmonary, hematology, bone health) for optimal treatment.
  • The Division welcomes the opportunity to co-manage the therapy of autoimmune diseases of other organ systems with the corresponding subspecialists, e.g., uveitis (ophthalmology), polychondritis (otolaryngology), etc. We would undertake such co-management with the expectation of close ongoing communication between rheumatology and the referring subspecialist.
