Sleep disorders affect approximately 40 million Americans, but only
5 percent of these are
diagnosed and treated.
The symptoms of sleepiness, such as snoring or an inability to concentrate, may not seem like significant reasons to seek medical attention, but left untreated, sleep-wake disorders can
lead to life-threatening cardiovascular disease and other health conditions.
The vast majority of sleep disorders can be readily diagosed and treated. The Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center (MRSDC)
