EM Laboratory, established in 1968, is a diagnostic reference center
receiving biopsies from the Upper Midwest and several other states.
Renal, neuromuscular,

tumor and hematologic specimens are processed for ultrastructural
analysis. A JEOL 1011 transmission electron microscope, digital camera and other state-of-the-art
equipment for automated processing, staining and digital photo-graphic development
are available.
Research
and development are important aspects of the EM Lab function.
