Hennepin County Medical Center’s Flow Cytometry Laboratory is a full service laboratory, offering immunodeficiency panels and immunophenotyping for hematologic malignancies in blood, bone marrow, fine needle aspirates and tissue samples. Our Flow Cytometry Laboratory is equipped with the state-of-the-art instrumentation and utilizes four-color panels for immunophenotypic analysis; research protocols are also available. The Flow Cytometry Laboratory offers high quality studies with rapid turnaround times and very competitive prices.

Staffing

The Flow Cytometry Laboratory at HCMC is directed by two MD, PhD-trained, board-certified Pathologists with experience in diagnosis of hematologic malignancies. Slides are prepared and morphology reviewed on hematologic specimens prior to immuno-phenotypic analysis to aid in correct panel selection. Our technical staff consists of highly skilled clinical laboratory scientists/medical technologists who are certified by the National Credentialing Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel, Inc. and/or the American Society for Clinical Pathology.


Hours and Turnaround
The Flow Cytometry Laboratory is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Services are not regularly offered on major holidays. Specimens received by 2:00 pm will be analyzed on the day of receipt. Specimens received after 2:00 pm require pathologist approval for same day analysis. HCMC provides a complimentary courier service for our clients within the Twin Cities seven county area and can arrange alternative transport services for clients outside that area.
