The Service League sponsors the operation of

two historical museums located at HCMC:

Together, they preserve the history of these health care facilities and their forerunners through a collection of documents, photographs, and artifacts that are attractively displayed.

The museums are operated by volunteers and are open to the public. For information about museum hours, call the Service League Office at (612) 873-2512.

First hospital ambulance

The photo at left is among the    museum's many artifacts.

In 1894, the first hospital    ambulance (horse and driver)

was rented at a cost of $1.50

per run. In 1900, a horse was    purchased and a driver was    hired to provide ambulance    service.
