The Department provides customers with the information,
tools and skills they need to improve processes and outcomes of patient
care and service.
The department provides internal consultation to administrative,
clinical, professional and ancillary staff to measure, assess and improve
performance and patient safety.
The core processes of the department are:
Measurement
Services providing measurement
and reporting of clinical, functional and patient satisfaction information.
Data Resource Services
reporting clinical and quality information
from clinical decision support, the TQ system, and the UHC Clinical Database.
Performance Improvement Services
identifying projects, coordinating project
facilitation and providing a mechanism for tracking projects.
Utilization Management
reviewing admissions, continued stays and
care documentation; reporting aggregate data to stakeholders.
Clinical Risk Management
identifying events and reducing the risk of
the event occurring again through root-cause analysis and review of aggregate
data.
Patient Representative Services
facilitating the patient complaint
process.
Patient Safety coordinating implementation of national patient safety goals and participating in Safest in America initiatives and the Institute for Health Improvement's "100,000 Lives" campaign.
