HCMC's Renal Care Unit staff provides education and inpatient care to patients who are admitted for diagnostic purposes, for the treatment of acute or chronic renal failure or complications of treatment, for a kidney transplant or because they are experiencing acute or chronic rejection, or because they are in the terminal stages of the disease process.

The unit's staff utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to patient care with services provided by staff from HCMC and Hennepin Faculty Associates, as well as by private physicians.
