Dr. Apple holds positions as:

  • Medical Director of: Clinical Laboratories,

Clinical Chemistry, Toxicology, and Point

of Care Testing at Hennepin County Medical Center

 

  • Professor, Laboratory Medicine & Pathology
    University of Minnesota School of Medicine

Dr. Apple received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and postdoctoral training Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology from Washington University School of Medicine,

St. Louis. Dr. Apple serves as the Medical Director of the Clinical Laboratories with specialization in Clinical Chemistry, Toxicology, and Point of Care Testing.

Dr. Apple is certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology. He also is board eligible for the American Board of Forensic Toxicology.

Dr. Apple is a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), Society of Forensic Toxicology (SOFT), American Academy of Forensic Science (ACFS), the Midwest Association of Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (MATT), and the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists (ACLPS). In addition he is a fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

Julie Kloss received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology with a Chemistry minor from Moorhead State University and her Masters in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. Ms. Kloss serves as the Toxicology Supervisor.

Ms. Kloss is a member of the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Scientists (ASCLS), Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA), and the Midwest Association of Toxicology and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (MATT).


TECHNICAL STAFF

The technical staff are highly trained with degrees in Medical Technology or biology and certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as Medical Technologists and/ or the National Credentialing Agency, Inc. as Clinical Laboratory Scientists.
