The NBICU is a 21-bed Level Three unit caring for infants in distress at birth, those requiring close observation, and those transferred from other facilities for treatment of neonatal diseases.
The newly remodeled NBICU features individualized lighting for each baby's bed and
sound-muffling acoustics.

new unit also features:
- Three rooms where parents can sleep overnight
to be close to their infants.
- A playroom to keep siblings entertained.
- A special mother's room for nursing.
- The Kayla Murphy NBICU Family Resource Room.
The Kayla Murphy Newborn ICU Family Resource Room is
a place parents can go to watch videos or read books or pamphlets on topics
including prematurity, newborn illnesses, child care, growth and development,
and loss and grieving.
