The Miland E. Knapp Rehabilitation Center (Knapp) is an acute specialty area of HCMC serving adolescent and adult patients. Knapp is part of the full service health care offered at the hospital. As part of the Level I Trauma Services at HCMC, Knapp is a primary provider of rehabilitation for the traumatically injured.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredits Knapp Rehabilitation Center's Stroke Specialty Program and the Brain Injury Inpatient Program and Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Program for adults and adolescents. This accreditation means that the Miland E. Knapp Rehabilitation Center program meets or exceeds the high standards of care required by CARF. Knapp was the first hospital in Minnesota to be CARF-accredited for Brain Injury rehabilitation
