About My bill
You are responsible for paying any balance left on your account after insurance, co-payments, pre-payments, and/or deposits have been made.
Types of Bills
It is important for you to know that you may receive two bills in the mail:
- HCMC Bill: You will receive an HCMC bill for the facility portion of your stay or visit, including lab and X-ray, surgery, room and board if you were an inpatient, and other services.
- Professional Fee: If your visit included meeting with a provider you may be billed separately for those services. This bill will state "Physicians of Hennepin County Medical Center" at the top.
Paying My Bill
Payment is due within 30 days. We accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards. You can pay by mail, telephone, online, or in-person by visiting the Blue 1 Lobby payment window (B1.113) on our downtown campus. The window is conveniently located right next to the Blue Welcome Desk. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) staff are available. Open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

What Your Payments Are Used For
The payments HCMC receives from patients or their insurance companies or public programs are used to keep our medical center and mission alive. HCMC is owned and operated by Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc., a public subsidiary corporation owned by Hennepin County. Most of our funding comes from payments for health care services.
