Note that there are multiple construction projects happening in our downtown neighborhood this summer. When completed, you will have a new, easily accessible one-stop center for all of your clinical care. Until then, please allow extra time to find parking and get to your appointment.
If you are planning to park for your visit to the downtown campus, we highly recommend you use our HCMC Parking Ramp at 6th Street and Park Avenue. We offer discounted rates for patients, families, and visitors in this ramp, and it is also conveniently connected by skyway to our Purple Building until 10PM.

Main Campus Entrances
Red Building public entrance on 8th Street — 730 South 8th Street
Traffic on 8th Street in front of the 730 S. 8th Street is restricted to one lane of traffic until mid-August. The driveway is still open, but consider using the 716 S. 7th Street driveway and Purple Building entrance during this time.
Purple Building entrance on 7th Street — 716 South 7th Street
Blue Building entrance on 8th Street — 900 South 8th Street
Use the Blue or Red entrance get to the Orange and Green buildings. Use the Blue entrance to access the Shapiro Building.
Parkside Professional Center entrance on 8th Street – 825 South 8th Street

Taking the Bus or Light Rail Transit to HCMC
HCMC is located at the corner of Park Avenue and 6th Street, conveniently located just 1-1/2 blocks south of the Downtown East/Metrodome station of the Light Rail Transit line. Visit the Metro Transit website for more information about bus and light rail routes and time schedules.

From the Northwest
94 East to Exit 230 (4th Street). Follow 4th Street to Chicago; turn right onto Chicago until South 7th Street.
From the Northeast
I-35W South to the Washington Avenue South exit. Turn right onto Washington Avenue and go several blocks to Chicago Avenue. Turn left on Chicago Avenue and travel five blocks to South 7th Street.
From the East
94 West to Exit 234B (5th Street). Follow 5th Street around the Dome; turn left onto Chicago until South 7th Street.
From the South
35W North to Exit 16A (Downtown). Take 5th Avenue and follow 5th Avenue to 8th Street. Turn right onto 8th Street and take to Chicago Avenue; turn left onto Chicago Avenue until South 7th Street.
From the West
394 East to Exit 9B (6th Street). Follow 6th Street until Chicago Avenue; turn right on Chicago Avenue until South 7th Street.
Due to multiple construction projects in our neighborhood we are experiencing parking issues on and near the main downtown campus. Please allow extra time to find a place to park, or consider the many transit options that serve our downtown neighborhood.
Ample parking is available close to our downtown campus in ramps, surface lots, and on surrounding streets.
Parking Discounts for Long-Term Hospitalizations
Families and friends of patients with prolonged hospitalizations should consider our "20 for $20" parking voucher program. For $20, you can purchase 20 parking passes to be used in a two-week period in the HCMC Parking Ramp. Request an authorization slip from the unit staff and present it in the Gift Shop in the Red Building, Level 1 Lobby.
Patient and Visitor Valet Parking
Valet parking is provided by HealthPark, available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, at a flat rate of $7 for patients and visitors at these entrances:
- 716 South 7th Street Entrance
Purple Building (7:30AM to 6PM)
- 913 South 7th Street Entrance
Blue Building (7AM to 6PM)
- 730 South 8th Street Entrance
Red Building (8AM to 6PM)
Discounted parking for patients, families, and visitors is available in the HCMC Parking Ramp and "Hospital" Parking Ramp. Please note that discounted parking for patients and visitors is not available in any of the local surface parking lots.

Handicapped-accessible parking is located on Street Level E.|
