8th Street - Weekend of Oct. 1-2
8th Street in front of the Red Building between Park and Chicago Avenues will be closed Saturday, October 1-Sunday, October 2 to raise the skyway structure for HCMC’s new clinic building. Patients with health emergencies who are going to the Emergency Department, Urgent Care, or Acute Psychiatric Services can still be dropped off on 8th Street in front of the Red Building by following the traffic controller’s instructions. 8th Street is scheduled to reopen on Sunday, October 2 at 10PM. Urgent Care is a convenient option for those seeking care for minor injuries and illness. When coming to Urgent Care, patients:

  • Do not need an appointment
  • May be able to get treatment more quickly than the next available clinic appointment
  • May wait for a shorter amount of time and pay a lower cost or co-pay compared to treatment in the Emergency Department

You can visit Urgent Care if you have one of the conditions listed below. After staff learns more about your injury or illness, you may be directed from Urgent Care to the nearby Emergency Department to receive of the right care. Insurance coverage may vary depending on where you receive care.
