Comprehensive Hearing Evaluation

HCMC Audiology provides comprehensive hearing evaluations for children and adults. Children are tested with age-appropriate methods including otoacoustic emissions and auditory brainstem testing for newborns and infants. Play-based testing is used for toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children.

Vestibular Assessments
Videonystagmography (VNG) is a specialized series of tests to assist in diagnosing and treating dizziness. Computerized analysis of eye movement and of inner ear function provide useful information in determining appropriate solutions or additional tests that may be necessary.

Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP) assesses your balance function. It will look at which parts of the balance system you rely on the most and which parts may be giving you problems. You stand in your bare feet on a special platform and work to keep your balance under various conditions.

The Canalith Repositioning Procedure (CRP) is used to provide relief from dizziness for patients who have been diagnosed with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). It is a controlled series of head movements that move tiny particles in the inner ear to restore proper functioning of the inner ear and balance system.

Hearing Aids
We offer comprehensive hearing aid evaluations and fittings of a wide range of conventional, programmable and digital hearing instruments. We also offer evaluation, fitting and follow up of bone-anchored hearing appliances (BAHA).
