The Dermatology Department offers a range of services
for diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases, including allergy skin testing,
fungal microscopic exams, ultraviolet light therapy, PUVA (psoralen and
long-wave ultraviolet light of the A spectrum) therapy, excision of skin
lesions, acne surgery, cryosurgery with liquid nitrogen, and biopsies.
The department also performs laser surgery, Mohs' surgery for skin cancers,
and research using interferon and other new drugs. A Pigmented Skin Lesion
Clinic is conducted in cooperation with the Plastic Surgery, General Surgery,
and Oncology staffs, and a Papilloma Virus/Wart Clinic is conducted with
the Gynecology staff.
