Domestic Violence Intervention Program

HCMC recognizes that domestic violence is a health care issue with broad effects on the overall well-being of individuals, families, and communities. The Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) at Hennepin County Medical Center exists to identify and provide services to patients and employees who are victims and survivors of domestic violence.

The DVIP, in collaboration with the Hennepin County
Domestic Abuse Service Center (DASC) provides:

  • Legal resources, including Orders for Protection
  • Safety planning
  • Advocacy and support for women and men living with violence
  • Referrals to appropriate resources
  • Ongoing support and consultation to members of the health care team
  • Education and training

The Domestic Violence Intervention Program maintains collaborative relationships with community domestic violence advocacy agencies.
