Child Passenger Safety (CPS)

Motor vehicle crashes is the leading cause of death for children. HCMC has been a leader in child passenger safety efforts for more then 10 years. Our staff has trained more then 600 CPS technicians in Minnesota. We have assisted several healthcare providers, EMS, and Law Enforcement agencies establish their own CPS programs.

Monthly Car Seat Inspection Clinic:

HCMC, in collaboration with Metropolitan Health Plan and the Minneapolis Fire Department, conducts a monthly care seat clinic in South Minneapolis the first Thursday of every month.

You must have an appointment (no drop-ins). Call (612) 873-7378 and leave a message and our staff will call you back to arrange a time. (Note: The Minneapolis Fire Station staffs do not perform car seat checks; you must make an appointment for the monthly clinic)
