HCMC Department of Medicine Alumni Reunions

Alumni Reunion 2003

Our 1st Reunion of HCMC Alumni (residents and staff) was enormously successful on many fronts — not the least of which was the palpable enthusiasm and support of all attendees. A total of 130 alumni attended the CME portion of the program and 284 people attended the Saturday evening reunion. The event was attended by graduates of the program dating back to the class of 1956 up through to 2003 and from as far away as Costa Rica. Highlights of the after-dinner program included a reading by Kathy Ogle, reflections from Tom Stillman and Anne Pereira,

	entertainment by Stuart Bloom (a reprise of his operetta "Miserable Wretches Are We") all superbly emceed by Henry T. Smith. Mick Belzer gave an update on the proposed administrative changes at HCMC and we provided introductory remarks and a welcome. We have provided below some photos of the weekend event that we hope you enjoy.

During the course of the weekend, the Schultz family announced that they would give a matching grant of $25,000 to the Alvin L. Schultz Education and Research Fund. This fund supports and enriches the education and research mission of our residency program. This generous grant from the Schultz family would be a dollar-for-dollar matching fund, so it behooves us to raise at least $25,000 from our faculty and alumni. To date, we have raised $14,000.
