Dear Alumni:
Staying in touch with you is important to us, and we are looking at new ways to
do this, including:
- Adding web pages to our website geared specifically to alumni.
- Starting the Distinguished Alumni Visiting Professor Program, in which we bring back an alumnus to give grand rounds and meet with residents and medical students. Dr. Rosemary Quirk (class of 2002) started off this series and gave a lecture called “The Many Challenges Facing Internal Medicine in Laos,” in which she described her experience as Residency Program Director in Laos during 2006-2007.
- Planning another alumni reunion event for the fall of 2008, which will be centered around the Alvin Schultz Visiting Professor Program. Plans are currently under way for this event and will be posted under the alumni
events section of this website.
We appreciate feedback from our alumni and could use your input on the following:
- Suggested speakers for the 2008 alumni event
- Alumni news to include on your "Alumni in the News" web page (look for
our first entry about the new ACP governor)
- Considering a donation to the Alvin Schultz fund, to help us continue to
support the wonderful resident research and visiting professor program in
our Department.
Thank you for staying in touch with the HCMC Department of Medicine. We look forward to our continued connection with our alumni community and hope to see
you at the 2008 alumni reunion.
Sincerely,

David N. Williams, M.D.
