Division of Clinical Epidemiology

Division Chief: Richard H. Grimm, Jr., M.D., Ph.D.
The Division of Clinical Epidemiology has two roles. The Division faculty is charged with teaching medical students and residents about evidence-based medicine, and research design and interpretation. The faculty also participates in research at MMRF’s Berman Center for Outcomes and Clinical Research.

Researchers at the Berman Center evaluate treatments for common, chronic, and costly medical conditions. Working with federal programs, pharmaceutical companies, managed care facilities and other research organizations, the Berman Center evaluates treatments for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and women’s health issues, including breast cancer, osteoporosis and hormone replacement therapy.
