Physicians in the Division of General Internal Medicine provide primary care services for patients with acute and chronic medical problems. A major function of the division is to supervise nearly sixty residents in their ambulatory clinics. Preventive care services are emphasized along with routine screening procedures. Same-day care is offered weekdays for patients with acute and minor medical problems. The division also provides preoperative and perioperative consultation for surgical patients.
