HCMC’s Ophthalmology Clinic provides eye exams in addition to diagnosis and treatment

of a broad range of eye problems. Subspecialties within the clinic include retina, cornea strabismus, neuro-ophthalmology, oculo-plastic, low vision, and glaucoma.

Botox and blepharoplasty (eyelid plastic surgery) services are also offered. Services arranged through the clinic include cataract extraction (with lens implant), laser refractive surgery, and contact lens fitting. Eye Clinic — (612) 873-5577.

Sanaz A. Loftus, MD

Sanaz A. Loftus, MD has recently been named Chief of the Ophthalmology Clinic at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC).

Dr. Loftus graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska in 2000. She completed a transitional internship at HCMC and residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Loftus’ areas of special interest include cataract surgery the medical and surgical care of glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
