HCMC's Pathology Department provides diagnostic and consulting services in Anatomic Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Staff physicians experienced in numerous subspecialties support diagnosis and treatment by reading tissue samples and interpreting laboratory results using special techniques such as electron microscopy and immunocytochemistry to look at the structure of cells. The department is closely associated with the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, which provides training in forensic medicine.
