Physiatrists prescribe rehabilitation services for inpatients and outpatients with brain or spinal cord injury, strokes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, arthritis, burns, amputations, orthopaedic problems, and other conditions of the musculoskeletal system associated with pain and disability. Patients requiring intensive inpatient rehabilitation services are cared for at the Miland E. Knapp Rehabilitation Center.
