Physicians
A physiatrist
is a physician who specializes in the rehabilitation of various illnesses.
The physiatrist manages the individual rehabilitation program of the patient.
The physician direct the treatment team, including the patient and family,
toward a realistic and timely discharge. The physician also provides medical
health care services seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The physician
selects appropriate therapies for each patient within the Knapp Rehabilitation
Center. The doctor writes orders and informs staff of the needs of the
patient.

Special patient diet
Activity restrictions
Weight-bearing
restrictions
Lifting restrictions
Medication management
Follow-up with medical tests/procedures
Monitoring physical and cognitive skills recovery
Coordinating other medical specialties
Conducting daily patient rounds
Directing patient/family conferences
