Support Groups

A support group provides peer interactions between individuals that have similar condition(s). Peers can lend valuable advice, provide information on resources, and suggest strategies to deal with different experiences. In addition, some support groups discuss educational topics, invite guest speakers, and can assist in developing a network of others with the same condition(s).

The types of support groups vary by condition and location. The following are types

of support groups:

Patients who express an interest in support groups and other community contacts
