Location
Class will be held in the EMS Education classrooms on level one of the HCMC Parking Facility at 600 Park Avenue in Minneapolis (view directions). Parking is available in the ramp and at several surface lots located nearby (view campus map). Coffee, soda, and vending machines are available in the building. There are restaurants within walking distance and a refrigerator and microwave oven available for use.


 

Pre-course Work & Handouts
You are strongly encouraged to review the ACLS Provider Manual and the handbook (we sent you by mail). To gain the most from the course review the following:

Chapter 5, Cases 6 & 10—The Acute Coronary Syndromes and Acute Ischemic Stroke (pp 23-27 & 28-57 of Handbook)
Appendix 1, pp213-224—Automated External Defibrillators (p.5 of Handbook)
Chapter 2-- The Systematic ACLS Approach (pp.6-7 of Handbook)

Course Completion
This course has been designed to provide 9.5 hours of continuing education units. For successful course completion AND to gain an ACLS Provider renewal card, you must:
  • Participate actively in the instructor-led verbal review of the critical actions for the 10 core ACLS cases
  • Successfully complete a practical evaluation of CPR and AED skills (see enclosed skill check sheet)
  • Successfully complete the ACLS written evaluation
  • Provide documentation of current ACLS Provider status

Cancellation
A cancellation fee of $88.00 will be charged for cancellations that occur within three weeks of the course start date. No refund is issued for no shows.
