The training is designed to prepare the candidate for a career in academic laboratory medicine or clinical practice, industry, or private reference laboratory practice by providing a foundation to apply to future developments in clinical pathology as well as current practice. The training program is organized in the laboratories and clinics of Hennepin Healthcare/HCMC. Extensive training in clinical and forensic toxicology is included. The training faculty includes 8 individuals with a variety of backgrounds and interests. The integrated research experience is conducted in the laboratories of Dr. Apple, Dr. Saenger, Dr. Love, or Dr. Hansen. The period of the fellowship is two years.
