Admission Information / Benefits


The admission criteria for the General Practice Residency program conforms to Hennepin County Medical Center's regulations and federal law regarding discrimination.

Dental Residents

Applicants for the program must meet the following criteria:

1) Must be a graduate of an ADA-accredited Dental     School.

2) Must be eligible for a resident's license in the State

    of Minnesota

Applicants are not required to have passed regional boards.

  

Application Process

Applications may be made through the PASS (Postdoctoral Application Support Service) program. Completed applications must be submitted by December 1. Upon review of the application package, the applicant may be invited for an interview.

Required Application materials include:

  • Official transcripts from dental school
  • Dean's letter (including class rank)
  • 3 letters of recommendation from faculty
  • National Board scores
  • Personal statement


Selected candidates are required to interview in person on designated interview days. Exact dates of interviews will be determined at a later time.
Hospital policies regarding bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease available upon request.

Benefits

    Each resident is entitled to two weeks of vacation during the     program year (not granted during the first and last weeks of

    the residency). The stipend for 2005-2006 is $40,548 per year.     Benefits include on-duty meals and quarters, parking, uniforms     and laundry of uniforms, malpractice insurance and health     insurance.
