PGY-2 North Memorial ED
North Memorial is a level one trauma center located in Robbinsdale, Minnesota which is just north west of Minneapolis. It's patient population varies from that of HCMC - more elderly and more middle, working class. The experience is great. This rotation is a great opporunity for you to get procedures (lines, intubations, chest tubes, lumbar punctures), assist/run stabilization cases, and work one on one with great staff. This rotation provides you with more of a community hospital experience in that you will be calling admissions/consults directly to attendings, rather than other residents. The only residency program at NMMC is family practice.
