Being born in India and raised in US, I experienced the best of both worlds. I have lived in Michigan for most of my life. I love to play sports and enjoy outdoor activities. Being the youngest, my family has had a great deal of influence in shaping me by instilling good values and guiding me towards a better future.
I look forward to spending my next three years in Minneapolis and being part of HCMC. I liked this program because of the wide spectrum of patients it serves, its solid foundation in academics and the dedicated faculty.

Hi, my name is Raj and I chose the less travelled (and more interesting!) road to medicine by first studying business, management, and information systems in undergrad.
While balancing the various demands of clerkship and life has been an interesting challenge, I am looking forward to joining such a strong program. I am excited by all of the new experiences soon to come and eager to get back into some of the other activities I previously enjoyed, including various water sports, reading, soccer, and working out. |

Chandra
Cherukuri
My name is Chandra Mouli Cherukuri. I was born and raised in Hyderabad (Pearl City), India. Some of the drastic changes in my family at the end of my high school further consolidated my childhood desire of being a medical professional. I graduated from Mamata Medical College, Khammam, India in 2007.After Medical school in India, I came to United States and spent couple of years teaching and researching in basic medical sciences at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana while pursuing my MS in Physiology.
I was drawn to HCMC- FM program because of the warm and friendly faculty and residents who I met when visiting the hospital. I also believe that the unrestricted program in a diverse community and patients of all ages allows for ample exposure to a broad range of health conditions. Though still a loyal Colts fan and although I may have to wait a little longer every year to get rid of winter jacket, I am very happy to be staying in Minneapolis and am thrilled to be part of HCMC Family!
I consider myself a down-to-earth person who loves to laugh and meet new people (although I look calm and composed). I owe my success in achievements to my very supportive and loving family and friends. I always try to keep myself busy so that I can forget the things that stress me. Away from work, I enjoy reading, running, cricket, racquetball, football, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and am always ready for a new adventure. |

It is a great pleasure to become a part of the Hennepin County Medical Center Family Medicine Program. I chose to train here because of the amazing training experiences to be had. It will also allow me to provide healthcare to an underserved community.

I was born in Tehran, Iran and moved with my family to the United States at age 3. We lived in Seattle and New York before settling in Minnesota when I was 8 years of age. I finished high school in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota for college where I studied biology and German. For medical school I went down to the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten where I enjoyed two years of Caribbean bliss before proceeding to London, New York, and Chicago for my clinical rotations. After medical school I spent an additional year in New York doing research before returning to Minneapolis for residency. My medical school experience was extraordinary as it allowed me to live in and travel to many amazing places around the world while teaching me medicine at the same time.
Soccer has been a big part of my life since I was at a young age. I played competitively in high school and college and am still very much involved through playing and coaching. I'm a die hard supporter of London's Arsenal Football Club as well as the Iranian National Team. My other interests include fitness, skiing, big cities, travelling/exploring new places, learning new languages, going out, and very importantly music. My playlist includes the Beatles, the Killers, Bob Sinclar, Chromeo and much more ranging from rock/alternative to indie house and electro funk. I'm excited to be at HCMC and look forward to working with an impressive group of people.

Fasihy
My name is Shahram Fasihy. I am originally from Iran. My family and I moved to Canada in 1990, when I was in grade 8. After graduating from high school, I got my Bachelor of Science degree from The University of British Columbia and completed an M.B.A. degree from The University of Phoenix. By that time my sister had already finished her residency in Family Medicine and I got really interested in what she does and decided to attend medical school. I graduated from The American University of Antigua College of Medicine in 2009 and got matched into Family Medicine at Hennepin the following year. I consider myself very fortunate to be here and look forward to my life in Minneapolis. My interests outside medicine include swimming, biking, skiing, cooking, and reading novels.

Bernice Lee
I was born with a pair of vagabond shoes that led me across the continents soon after birth. First I spent the memorable toddler and preschool years with my paternal grandparents in Mauritius, a beautiful island nation off the southeast coast of Africa. Then I was re-united with my mother in my birth place, Hong Kong, and visited many parts of east and southeast Asia during my childhood. My family became Canadian citizens in my early teens and since then, I have enjoyed countless white Christmases in various cities of Ontario and eventually met my Toronto Maple Leaf fanatic fiancé in the hometown of Wayne Gretzky. Originally an engineering geek, but via a pit stop in the Caribbean, I landed back to North America with a white coat. These vagabond shoes have indeed widened my horizons and deeply immersed me into different cultures and beliefs that in turn, nurtured my interest in international medicine. Hence I chose HCMC, which provides me the opportunity to interact with patients from culturally diverse backgrounds, each with a unique pattern of pathology and complex needs! |

Reddy
My name is Pranav Reddy. I have enjoyed growing up in Eden Prairie, MN. I went to Carleton College, and so have spent most of my life in Minnesota and have enjoyed it. Though the winters are harsh the summers are beautiful and I have enjoyed biking, playing tennis, golf, and fishing.
I went to St. George’s University for medical school and really enjoyed my medicine rotations at various inner city hospitals. I enjoyed my interview at HCMC and really felt welcome, furthermore I got the feeling that the residents were very happy with the program and I could see the comradery between the staff and residents. I am happy to be able to come back to MN for residency and serve the community in which I grew up.

Growing up in a rough part of Chicago, I chose a career in medicine as my chance to give back to my community. I graduated from Kasturba Medical College in India. Coming from another Midwestern city, I am very excited to be training at an institution, which cares for a large, diverse under-served population. My interests are in preventive medicine and medical education. I plan to take full advantage of my time at HCMC alongside a staff that is truly committed to caring for their community. In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, drums, volunteering, riding motorcycles, traveling, useless trivia (Jeopardy is my favorite TV show) and playing soccer. |

Greetings! I was born and raised in the culturally diverse city of Toronto, Canada. After a brief stint as a child actor, I completed an undergraduate degree in Honors Biology at McMaster University. It was during my university days that I became more interested in medicine, specifically, during my summers volunteering abroad with teams on community education, service, and counseling in rural Guyana, South America and Kingston, Jamaica. In Guyana, my role was mainly in community outreach for people suffering from HIV/AIDs, providing education, counseling, and skill building workshops. In Kingston, I was more involved with direct patient care of mentally/physically challenged individuals as well as the poor and chronically ill. I then attended the basic sciences part of medical school in the Netherlands-Antilles and am grateful for my experiences and education there. Afterwards, I completed my clinical rotations in Louisiana.
Outside of medicine, my passions include: music (both playing and listening/going to concerts), spending time with my wife (specifically restaurant hunting), family and friends, working with computers (anything tech. related), watching/playing soccer, attending football/baseball/basketball games, and watching movies.
I very much look forward to working with all of my colleagues and staff at HCMC and am grateful for being able to be a part of a wonderful community.
