About our Program

Greetings from our Director

Welcome!  Thank you for your interest in the Hennepin-Regions Psychiatry Program.

Established in 1996, our program is a partnership between Hennepin County Medical Center and Regions Hospital, both of which are large teaching hospitals with Level I Trauma Centers. Located in a dynamic Midwestern urban center, the hospitals provide a diverse patient population as well as multiple learning environments.

During our four-year program, residents participate in the required clinical rotations and comprehensive didactic training necessary to practice general psychiatry.  Residents are also encouraged to develop specialized areas of interest during elective rotations.

We provide a great sense of camaraderie and friendship as we bring residents, staff and family together for program retreats, picnics, holiday parties, movie clubs and social gatherings.

We invite you to come and visit us, view our facilities, meet our faculty, and sample our communities.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Amitabh Tipnis, MD
