Overview of the Transitional Residency Program

Hennepin County Medical Center sponsors a one-year hospital based transitional resident program. We believe in hands-on experience, exposure to medical specialties, expert guidance, and a focus on learning
by doing.

Length of Transitional Program:
One year
Size of Residency Program:
Four to eight per year
Required Rotations:
Ambulatory Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Surgery and two electives
Most Chosen Specialties:
Radiology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, Dermatology, Neurology
