Simulation Center: Facilities & Equipment
The 10,000-square-foot Interdisciplinary Simulation and Education Center is located on the lower level of the HCMC Parking Ramp.
The center includes multiple rooms dedicated to each of the simulation tools offered. The rooms are fully wired with video and monitoring capabilities and many have one-way glass for observation. The center also includes a conference room for larger group discussions.
The center uses a full range of state-of-the-art learning modalities to provide the most realistic hands-on education possible.
High-fidelity mannequins are computer operated life-sized mannequins that have pulses, respirations, and vital signs, and are able to converse and interact with the learners.
Procedural task trainers are designed to teach technical skills for a wide array of procedures.

Standardized patients, or actors who play the role of a patient, will teach and refine patient communication and examination skills. Volunteer positions are available for those interested in playing the part of a patient or family member. Please contact us if you are interested at ISEC@hcmed.org.
