About the Hennepin Health Foundation The Hennepin Health Foundation (HHF) is a charitable foundation with the IRS 501(c)(3) designation created to raise money and engage community support for our nationally recognized public teaching and safety net hospital. The Hennepin Health Foundation supports the mission and goals of Hennepin County Medical Center and provides an avenue for individuals and organizations to support the programs and services that make this one of the nation’s premiere public teaching hospitals. Funds raised by the foundation will be used to support a number of core areas, including: Innovative Patient Support Programs Basic Needs of Safety-Net Patients Our Safety Net Fund supports the basic personal needs of patients such as emergency clothing, prescription co-pays, diapers, parking assistance for parents of ill/injured children and other urgent unaffordable needs. Medical Research The Minneapolis Medical Research Foundation (MMRF) is the research arm of Hennepin County Medical Center. Researchers seek solutions to some of the greatest challenges facing medicine today. More than 30 funds support the research MMRF conducts in areas of medicine throughout the hospital. Public Advocacy We work on behalf of the Medical Center and our patients served to demonstrate our value to the community as the hospital faces significant budget cuts due to the termination of the state General Assistance Medical Care Program (GAMC). |
