Hennepin County Medical Center -- Minnesota's first Level 1 Trauma Center

Hennepin County Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons.  In 1989, we were the first Level 1 Trauma Center to be verified in Minnesota, and remain home to the largest Emergency Department in the state.

Level 1 designation means that Hennepin County Medical Center has trained and capable personnel available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to treat the most critically injured patients. Actively

involved in state-wide and region-wide emergency preparedness, it also means our trauma center has the staff, facilities and equipment necessary to provide specialized care in all types of emergencies.

Hennepin County Medical Center offers a full
