Student Lectures take place each Tuesday and
Wednesday at 7:30 am until 9 am
There are 4 set topics for the
Tuesday lecture series and these are given by the Pit bosses:
- Splinting workshop
- Trauma care
- Approach to the poisoned
patient
- Evaluation of abdominal
pain
The Wednesday lectures are
given by members of the HCMC Emergency Medicine faculty on a variety of
topics of interest. Common topics include:
- Chest pain
- International Emergency
Medicine
- Pain management
- Cervical spine trauma
- Diving emergencies and
hyperbaric medicine
- Domestic Violence
Attendance at these lectures is mandatory. Students are also
expected to attend Thursday morning conference from 7:30am until noon.
