  • ED lab does many of the labs (e.g. wet prep, U/A, ABG, CO levels, Istat panels, and Hb) and their number is 72029

  • Main lab number is 73001 and you can call to check on labs if they are not returning (You can use Emstat’s timers to follow the time from the lab draw to results returning.)

  • Blood bank may be called to check to see if the patient has a prior type on record (if they have had a baby at HCMC in the past they should have a type on file)
     
  • Old labs, either ordered in clinic, in the ED, or in the hospital, should all be on the IRIS computer system (this is often quicker than waiting for old records)
