At Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC), we put the patient and family at the center of all that we do and strive to make every experience an outstanding one. To ensure you have all the information you need before your visit, we have assembled the following list of resources.

Blue HandLocations

Line

Downtown Hospital and Clinics

The main campus is located in downtown Minneapolis, across the street from the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.

Main Entrances:

  • Red Building entrance on 8th Street — 730 S. 8th Street (open during evening and weekend hours)
  • Purple Building entrance on 7th Street — 716 S. 7th Street
  • Blue Building entrance on 8th Street — 900 S. 8th Street

To get to the Orange and Green buildings, use the Blue or Red entrance. To access the HFA Shapiro Building, use the Blue entrance.

Neighborhood Clinics

Neighborhood and community clinics are located in Minneapolis on East Lake Street and in the Whittier Neighborhood, Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Richfield and in Walmart stores in Bloomington and Eden Prairie. For locations, see clinics.

We are committed to making the process of paying for your health care services as easy as possible. That's why we have created an online portal to guide you through the process. If you have questions about your bill, call Customer Service at (612) 873-3073. To discuss payment options, call a financial counselor at (612) 873-2767.

Gray Line

We offer the following sources of health information to help you stay informed about your own health and the health of your family.

  • Healthy Matters, a weekly radio show featuring interviews with medical experts on a variety of topics. Hosted by Dr. David Hilden, an internist on the staff of HCMC.
  • Health e Matters, a monthly e-newsletter for the community that offers valuable medical news and health tips.
  • Nuestra Salud, a TV show about personal health and health information for the Latino community in Minnesota. Hosted by Dr. Veronica Svetaz of HCMC’s East Lake Clinic.

For additional health information, we recommend Medline Plus. A service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, this free website provides up-to-date information about diseases, conditions, and wellness issues.
