Kevin Larsen, MD has been appointed Associate Medical Director for Informatics/Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at Hennepin County Medical Center. Dr. Larsen was selected following a national search and approval by Hennepin County Medical Center and Hennepin Faculty Associates (the physician group for HCMC) Senior leadership.
“Dr. Larsen brings a wealth of experience in medical informatics and specifically, the interface between computers and clinical practice here Hennepin,” notes Hennepin County Medical Center’s Medical Director Dr. Michael Belzer. Dr. Larsen has served as the Interim CMIO Since August 2007, and in that position he has worked closely with Information Services.
“We’re very fortunate to have Dr. Larsen in this role. He’s been very involved with the implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and understands the complexities of its design, use, and how it improves care for our patients.”
Located in downtown Minneapolis, Hennepin County Medical Center is the centerpiece of Hennepin County’s clinical health services, which include the physician group practice Hennepin Faculty Associates and a network of community clinics.
