Mark Odland, MD appointed Chief of Surgery
Dr. Mark Odland was recently appointed Department Chief of Surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC). Dr. Odland started his residency at HCMC in 1978, and then spent two years in his hometown of Minot, ND before returning to HCMC in 1986. He served in the interim chief role prior to accepting this current position.

Actively involved in transplant services, Dr. Odland is the Director of Transplant Services at HCMC and is a past president of LifeSource, the regional transplant procurement agency for Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and western Wisconsin.

Dr. Odland is a graduate of St. Olaf College, the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, and the General Surgery Residency of Hennepin County Medical Center. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Hennepin Faculty Associates and is Chairman of the Board of Midwest Medical Insurance Company.
