Melissa White, MD
Commitment to Patient-Centered Care
"My practice style is to engage patients in their own health decisions based on evidence-based medicine, with respect for their individual goals of care. I do this by supporting each patient's health based on their cultural, educational, and spiritual backgrounds."
Dr. White's medical career has been primarily focused on caring for patients in the hospital setting. She chose internal medicine as a specialty so that she could provide a wide range of care for adults with complex medical problems. She has special clinical interests in psychiatry, prenatal care, palliative medicine and geriatrics. In addition to inpatient medicine, she also provides medical consultations in the psychiatry units. Her academic interests include quality improvement, medical informatics, physician wellness and promoting healthy leadership environments. She thoroughly enjoys the privilege of teaching residents and medical students in an energetic and positive learning environment.

"I stay inspired by celebrating the joy in everyday moments with my husband, adorable kids and best friends. When not at work, I can be found dancing in my kitchen, singing show tunes, teaching yoga, attempting meditation, and orchestrating creative arts and crafts projects, all while consuming a healthy dose of caffeine. I have a passion for supporting social justice and mental health causes."
