Dr. Hansen graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2003. She subsequently completed public health coursework in Public Health Practice through the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center followed by a year as Chief Resident to the Internal Medicine program. She was appointed Medical Director of the General Inpatient Medicine Unit in 2008. Dr. Hansen is board certified in Internal Medicine and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Hansen serves as a hospitalist member, caring exclusively for patients admitted to the hospital and working with primary physicians to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to home.

Dr. Hansen's areas of special interest include program evaluation, medical education and humanism in medicine.
