Gay M. Varecka, PhD, CNP
Family and Community Medicine
Gay received her B.S. degree from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York followed by an M.S. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a focus on acute care. She obtained her Ph.D in Higher Education and Administration at the University of Minnesota. She completed her post Masters with adult nurse practitioner training at St. Catherine University and was an Evidence-Based Practice Mentor at Arizona State University.
Gay has worked at Hennepin Care Brooklyn Center for almost 15 years as a nationally board certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult health with an emphasis on women’s health issues, health promotion, and inclusivity.
She is also a full time Associate Professor at St. Catherine University teaching in the masters Nurse Practitioner program as well as the Doctorate in Nursing Practice program.
