Dr. Scott Davies is Chief of the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Davies specializes in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. He has been a teacher and mentor of medical students, fellows and residents at Hennepin County Medical Center since 1979. He has an active role in clinical rotations in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine for trainees at all levels.
In his many years of service as a physician and teacher, Dr. Davies has received several awards for distinguished teaching at Hennepin County Medical Center, the University of Minnesota Medical School, the Minnesota Medical Foundation and he has been repeatedly named a "Top Doctor" by Mpls/St. Paul Magazine and recognized on the Best Doctors of America list.
Dr. Davies is a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Physicians. He is board-certified, holding certificates and licensure with the American Board of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care.
Dr. Davies has been a Professor of Medicine since 1994 and was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 2002. He has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles, books, book chapters and editorials on internal medicine, thoracic and pulmonary medicine.
