How to Act F.A.S.T.

Fact: 75% of stroke victims don’t get to the hospital fast enough to get treatments that can stop brain damage, disability, and even death.

Use the FAST test if you think someone is suffering a stroke. Pay attention to the person's body and actions and ask:

F ace:  Can the person smile normally?

A rms:  Can he or she raise both arms equally?

S peech:  Can the person repeat a sentence without slurring?

T ime:  Call 911 right away if the person can’t pass the FAST test.

Know the signs. Get help right away.
